Points exist for one reason: to give destinations a reason to sign an exclusive.
On an ordinary travel platform, points are a discount mechanism. AiLAE's points are a bargaining chip — they only work at contracted destinations, so every point a member holds turns into a visitor for that destination. What the destination gets is a known audience arriving in termly cohorts, and that is why they are willing to grant a fixed flight path, a booth location and exclusive offers.
